FAQ

Question: Can I lose weight and tone up doing yoga?

Yes! You will burn calories, your heart rate will rise and you will sweat! Working through and holding poses tones muscles, too.

Question: I'm not limber. Can I still do yoga?

We practice yoga to become more flexible. Being flexible is not a requirement!

Question: I have trouble relaxing and my mind races. Will yoga help me?

Absolutely! You will learn breathing techniques and relaxation techniques such as visual imagery and positive affirmations. It does take time, but even after your first class you will feel more relaxed. Over time you will be more relaxed throughout the day and better able to handle life's ups and downs.

Question: I haven't exercised in a long time. I'm nervous about taking a yoga class. Do you have any advice?

Our classes are limited to 10, so you aren't walking into a room of 20-30 people. Our classes are suitable for beginners through advanced. Instructors give modifications to poses and encourage everyone to work at their own pace. There's no competition!

If you are still hesitant, you may want to try a private session or 2.

Question: I am interested in a light type of yoga class. What suggestions do you have?

Take our Gentle yoga class. It is slower paced and doesn't "flow" as in the other classes. We practice beginner to intermediate poses.

Question: Is yoga really a workout? Isn't it just stretching?

There are many different types of yoga. We teach Vinyasa, or flow yoga, which is definitely a workout! You will also become more flexible and relaxed.

Question: I'm in good shape, but am looking for a new workout. Will I be challenged?

Yes! During class your instructor will give you more challenging poses to work in. We can also help you before or after class, or during a private session, to help you get the most out of your poses and practice.
