Studio Etiquette

Yoga for Exercise

We kindly ask for prior online class sign in. This reserves your space in class. Classes are limited to 10.

Students can email or phone to sign in, but this may not secure a space. Students can drop in, however, class may be full, or canceled.

Sign in and canceling closes 1 hour prior to the class.

A minimum of 2 students is required for a class to make. The best way to make sure a class will not be canceled is to sign in online.

Students signed up online will be notified by email if class is canceled, or if there is a wait list.

For students to cancel their prior sign in, click the "my class schedule" tab, find the class you'd like to cancel and click "cancel now". Emailed or phoned in cancelations may not be processed. Canceling less than 1 hour prior to class, or a no show, may result in being charged for the class. This will be charged to the purchased package, or for unlimited monthly students the result is a $10.00 charge.

New students should complete our New Client Information Pack and bring it with them to class.

We offer personalized attention and are happy to help our students free of charge 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after class.

The door opens to students 15 minutes prior to class. If you arrive earlier, we ask that you please wait before entering or knocking. Your instructor may be working with students from the previous class.

We strive to begin class on time. This gives us the needed time before and after class to assist our students.

Once class has begun, the front door is locked. We do not interrupt class to unlock the door for those who may be late.

Once you arrive, help yourself to a cup of tea.

Drop some of our pure essential oil on your wrist and allow the scent to relax your mind and body.

Begin to unwind by resting with an eye pillow. Room temperature or cold ones are available.

Look over our library books and cd's, or shop our wellness area for relaxation aides, jewelry, yoga mats and more.

Visit with other yogis, or ask your instructor for tips about your practice or a particular pose. We encourage you to ask questions of your instructor after class as well.

Tips

1.) Seek advice from physician before beginning any type of exercise program, including Yoga. Our instructors do not diagnose illness, disease, physical or mental conditions, prescribe medical treatments or pharmaceuticals.

2.) Eat 1 to 1½ hours before practicing, or eat something light. Be well hydrated and have water available during class.

3.) Clothing should be comfortable and free of belts and buttons. Not too loose as it will get in the way; such as baggy pants and t-shirts. Well fitted yoga/exercise top and bottom are best. Yoga is practiced in bare feet.

4.) Use of lotion on the hands and feet before practice may cause slipping on the mat and interfere with practice.

5.) Bring a mat to class. We have mats available to borrow for your first class.

6.) For your first class, please arrive 10 minutes early.

7.) Place personal items in cubby provided. Cell phone off. We prefer it not be brought into the studio.

8.) Only mat, towel, water, and props if needed, are allowed in studio area.

9.) As we practice, let go of conversations and be mindful of others around us.

10.) Yoga is non-competitive! Be mindful of your limitations. Listen to and respect your body.
